5 Reasons Why You SHOULD Book a Personal Branding Session

Is a branding photo shoot worth it?

As a business and lifestyle photographer, of course I’m going to say yes. But not just because it’s good for my business–because it’s great for yours! I love helping my clients reach their goals and experience success. And I know how important professional images are to accomplishing that. If you’re on the fence about booking a branding photo shoot, here are my top 5 reasons why you should absolutely consider it.

Connect with clients

Connecting with your audience and your ideal client is much more powerful with imagery that is unique to your brand. When you show up it allows your audience to resonate and feel like they can really connect with you. People buy from people. When they get to know you, they start to like you and therefore trust you, they are more likely to engage and buy into your product or service. Here are a few points about why booking a personal brand photoshoot should be one of your priorities when you’re working on your visibility online.

First Impressions are lasting!

Your images are one of the first things the client or potential customer sees. This is their first impression of you and your brand. The question you need to ask is ‘What impression do you want your audience to have?

-Do you want them to see you as an expert in your field?

-Do you want them to see you as someone they can connect with and relate to?

-Do you want them to be drawn in by your images?

-Do you want them to remember your brand because of the images they have seen?

If you answered yes to all of the above, then personal brand photography should definitely be on your ‘to-do’ list.

More than a Headshot!

If you’re relatively new to the term ‘Personal Brand Photography’, you may think it’s a headshot that’s a little less formal than the corporate studio type of image. It’s a LOT more than this. It’s about telling your story through imagery. When you’re trying to connect with your ideal client, authentic images of you are key. You want to convey the ‘who, what, and why’ behind your business. This can be in the form of showing you at home, relaxing with a cuppa or a glass of wine, or even with your kids (take out the word ‘relaxing’ if it’s with the kids!). If you’re a service-based business, it may be capturing you, interacting with a client. All of this is part of the story of your brand. Capturing behind-the-scenes images, so that your audience and ideal client can relate to you and therefore connect with you.

Library of high-quality images

If you spend what feels like hours searching through your phone, looking for an image to use for your social media posts, you know how painful this can be. When you have a whole library of great images to use for your content you’ll find it much easier to show up and post. You’ll also perhaps be more consistent because you won’t be wasting time finding that perfect image to work for your business and brand.

Standing out from the crown (and competition!)

Did you know that the human brain processes images 60,000 times faster that text, and 90 percent of information transmitted to the brain is visual? This means that for someone to stop scrolling through their social media feed, because they’ve seen an image that stands out, it needs to be high-end and professional. This imagery also needs to be unique to you – not a generic stock library image that other brands can use too!
