Growth doesn’t happen in comfort, so I built this session around a set of intentional challenges. The day was unexpectedly cold and windy, the kind of weather that seeps into your bones and makes it difficult to stay present. But Maleyah didn’t back down. She showed up fully, despite the elements, and pushed through the discomfort with a quiet strength that impressed me deeply.

The old saying goes, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” It’s a comforting idea, but not always true. Some words hit deeper than we care to admit. They linger, they echo, and they leave behind something unseen but very real.

This was a fun little project that took a new turn during post-production! Sometimes, these magical moments happen where the creative vision shifts and evolves into something even better.

This heart project emerged from a place of personal pain and struggle, where I experienced deep loss and felt extremely vulnerable. I've waited weeks, perhaps even a couple of months, for the perfect weather for this shoot. I wanted it to be rainy, grainy, and gritty—a setting that would evoke a certain rawness and intensity.

Sometimes, a photo shoot transcends the ordinary and becomes something truly magical. This was precisely the case when I had the privilege of working with the exceptionally talented Sara Todd for the first time. The result was a session that seamlessly blended her raw talent with the breathtaking power of the breaking waves at sunrise.
