Total meow fail!

The good thing is, that we have the idea. Now we just have to just go back to the drawing board!

We’ve lived in our home for over a decade and every time I sit down on the couch, I see an empty space above the tv that haunts me. Over the years I’ve placed tall vessels, plants, and even Christmas decorations. However, it always felt like there was something missing. That is until Coco came into our lives! Unlike my other cats, Coco loves to explore and hide. One day while I was staring at the void that’s been haunting me, I thought, what if we built a cat loft?! It was definitely a lightbulb moment but we questioned whether or not she would make use of it. She must’ve heard us because two days after that little conversation she climbed up there all by herself, no shelve, no nothing! So, it was confirmed. Cat loft it is!

We had some scrapped wood left over from other projects and we got some jute and built this little cat wall shelf.

She absolutely loved it! 😻

However, a few short months passed and our little indoor jaguar has proved to be one strong kitty. She uses some of the stair steps as spring boards and well here’s the fail…

I guess we need stronger brackets and an overall new design. So back to the drawing board it is! Below is our new concept. We are thinking of ramps with reinforcements instead of stairs, shelves with stronger brackets, and adding an additional shelve on top of the tv for frames and decorations.

Hopefully, this concept works out better. Wish us luck! 🐈
